Head of Collateral Unit

Responsibilities:

  • determine whether the proposed collateral is acceptable to the
    Bank;
  • determine the coverage ratio for the proposed type of
    collateral;

  • determine the cases where an independent appraisers’ report is
    needed;
  • check the documents confirming the ownership of the items to be
    pledged (if applicable);
  • determine the list of real estate appraisal companies,
    insurance companies and surveyors acceptable to the Bank;
  • check documents and registration of mortgage;
  • check collateral agreements; post-monitoring of collateral
    after the agreement is signed; this includes sites visits (eg
    outside Moscow) several times a month. in case of payment default:
    arrest and sale of collateral.
  • In cooperation with the business: preliminary collateral report
    at the initial stage of negotiations; documents check;
  • collateral agreement;
  • post-monitoring (without Relationship Manager involvement) –
    report from the client.

Requirements:

  • 5 to 8 years experience in a Collateral unit in recognized bank
    Attention to detail.
  • ability to assess value and risks in a disciplined and rigorous
    manner.
  • native Russian speaker with strong English written and spoken
    skills.
  • ability to communicate well with colleagues at a variety of
    levels locally and throughout the HSBC Group.
  • relevant financial education to a Degree level would be
    beneficial.
